The days of the complicated programming models are over.  Forget J2EE.  Give me a powerful scripting language like Groovy or Python, RESTful web services, and Dojo any day.

Initially, I’m going to chronicle my “zero-programming” experiment. I’m wrapping scripted extensions and services around an enterprise software application with the goal of radically simplifying development effort.  Can I really create apps without coding?

I will use these tools:

  • Groovy, an agile dynamic language for the java platform
  • IBM’s InfoSphere Master Data Management Server, enterprise software to manage customer, product, and account information
  • IBM’s WebSphere sMash, an integrated run-time and tooling environment supporting web 2.0 technologies
